Norway’s Transport Minister Jon-Ivar Nygård tests positive for COVID-19

Minister of Transport and Communications Jon-Ivar Nygård (AP) is infected with coronavirus. 

He announced the news on Facebook on Tuesday.

“It was my turn… A sore throat, and a positive corona test,” Nygård wrote on Facebook.

He added that the sickness has not “completely knocked him out, fortunately.” 

Several members of the Norwegian government have been infected in recent weeks, including Justice Minister Emilie Enger Mehl (SP), Minister of Research and Higher Education Ola Borten Moe (SP), Minister of Agriculture Sandra Borch (SP), Minister of Culture Anette Trettebergstuen (AP), Minister of Education Tonje Brenna (AP), Minister of Foreign Affairs Anniken Huitfeldt (AP), and Minister of Development Anne Beathe Tvinnereim (SP).
