Norwegian airports registered an increase in the numbers of passengers in December
Norwegian airports registered over 2.7 million passengers in December, a marked increase from the same month the year before.
From December 2020 to December 2021, the number of air passengers increased by 53%, according to figures from Statistics Norway (SSB). Compared with December 2019, however, there was a decrease of 35%.
In December of 2021, the increase was the largest for international flights. A total of 773,000 people flew to and from abroad through Norwegian airports in December, which is an increase of as much as 83% from the same month the year before.
A total of 25 million air passengers were registered at Norwegian airports throughout the whole of last year, which is an increase of 12% from 2020. However, it was a decrease of 57% from 2019.
