The Norwegian Ministry of Foreign Affairs advises against all travel to the Tigray region, as well as the border areas between Tigray and the neighboring regions of Amhara and Afar, due to the fighting in the north of the country.

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MFA) also advises against all travel to eastern parts of the Somali region and Somalia’s border areas.

Additionally, travel that is not strictly necessary to other parts of the Somali region is discouraged.

Fighting broke out last week between Ethiopian authorities and the TPLF party, which controls the Tigray region in the northeast of the country.

The Ethiopia travel recommendation comes on top of the coronavirus general travel recommendations against all travel that is not strictly necessary.
