On Tuesday evening, a service for peace in Ukraine will be held in Oslo. All denominations in Norway participate, including the Orthodox Church.

The Orthodox Church is the majority church in Ukraine and is among the churches that will gather in the Trinity Church in Oslo on Tuesday night.

“It is important that we believers show that, after all, it is possible to show love and care through prayer,” Father Johannes in the Orthodox Church in Norway stated.

The Christian Council of Norway and the Trinity Church are the organizers of the service.

Praying for peace

“Together with churches all over the world, we will pray for a just peace. We ask for an end to the war in Ukraine and protection and help for all those affected in war and conflict-affected areas,” Bishop Kari Veiteberg in the Oslo diocese stated.

Together with Bishop Bernt Eidsvig of the Catholic Church, she will reflect on the challenging times ahead.
