Nearly 41,800 patients went through rehabilitation in the specialist health service last year. That is 9,200 fewer than the year before.

The number corresponds to a reduction of 18%.

Over time, there has been a decline in the number of rehabilitation patients in the specialist health service. Still, the decline was significantly higher from 2019 to 2020 than in previous years, according to a new report from the Norwegian Directorate of Health.

According to the Norwegian Directorate of Health, the sharp decline must be seen in connection with the corona pandemic and lockdown periods or reduced capacity.
