Foreign Minister Anniken Huitfeldt (AP) has a pessimistic view of the situation in Ukraine after the development in recent days.

“The chances of a diplomatic solution have been greatly reduced due to Russia’s military actions. But we never stop working on dialogue and conversations. But it looks relatively bleak right now,” she told Norwegian Broadcasting (NRK).

On Wednesday night, it became known that US Secretary of State Antony Blinken canceled the planned meeting with Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov. Huitfeldt believes the decision is justified.

According to Huitfeldt, Russia has just as many, if not more, forces on the border with Ukraine now.

“Now they warn that they will go to invasion. It shows that violations of international law are imminent and that there is no correspondence between words and actions,” she said.
