A Russian attack on Ukraine could be imminent, Foreign Minister Anniken Huitfeldt (AP) says.
“There has been an intense diplomatic effort in various channels over time. Russia has so far not shown a willingness to engage in real negotiations,” Huitfeldt said at a press conference on Tuesday.
“We are facing a serious situation because the Russian build-up of forces continues,” she said.
She asked all Norwegian citizens to return home from Ukraine and advised against all travel to Belarus except Minsk.
“We have contacted Norwegian citizens who have registered, about 100 people,” Huitfeldt added.
