Norwegian health authorities are considering doing the same as the United Kingdom and refusing entry from Denmark after the spread of a mutated coronavirus from mink to humans.
“We are assessing whether the quarantine rules we have now are sufficient, or whether we should have the same rules as the UK,” health director Bjørn Guldvog told Norwegian Broadcasting (NRK).
The British government announced on Saturday that an entry ban would take effect immediately.
Exceptions are made for British nationals.
Today, the ten-day quarantine applies on arrival in Norway.
On Wednesday, Danish authorities stated that a mutated variant of the coronavirus had been found that had spread from mink to humans.
The government has initiated the killing of all the country’s mink.
