Norwegian health official: Those who travel on holidays have to take corona tests before their trip privately

People who need a corona test because they are traveling abroad should not use the municipal testing stations, assistant health director Espen Nakstad stated on Thursday.

“We have a system in Norway where there are testing opportunities in each municipality and also private actors who carry out tests.

“I do not think it is appropriate to create another system to satisfy the requirement for a negative test before holiday travel,” Nakstad told Norwegian Broadcasting (NRK).

“We must find solutions and look at the numbers to see if this is a big problem. We need to see whether this will be only a few people or whether there will be a high proportion of those who test themselves at the testing stations,” he added.
