Increased coronavirus infection should lead to doctors and health personnel being prioritized in the vaccine queue, ahead of the risk groups, according to the Norwegian Medical Association’s president Marit Hermansen.
“The admission from the authorities that we are now facing a very serious infection situation must be reflected in the fact that health personnel should now be vaccinated first,” Hermansen told Norwegian Broadcasting (NRK).
However, the National Institute of Public Health (FHI) does not support the Norwegian Medical Association in its demand.
“We must remember that those who are first in line are the oldest. They are the ones who risk dying if they become infected,” Preben Aavitsland at the FHI noted.
