Norway’s Minister for Children and Families, Kjell Ingolf Ropstad (KrF), criticized the website OnlyFans on Monday. He’s worried about how the site affects young people’s upbringing.

“I am also particularly worried if pictures and material are spread in a way that the young people lose control (over them),” Ropstad told newspaper Dagen.

OnlyFans allows users to share content and get compensation from subscribers. The majority of the content is pornographic images and videos, according to the news bureau NTB.

Reaction

Ropstad reacted after the publication of a post on the website Jeune, a debate page for young people, written by Pastor Thomas Neteland in the Pentecostal church Sentrumskirken Sandnes.

“The development of violence and gross abuse among children and young people, the sharing of nude photos and material of children via websites and social media is shocking and serious,” he believes.

He also says that the most important thing is that parents talk to their children about what they experience online.

“We need to talk to children and young people about boundaries and where the boundaries are for what others can do with your body,” he added.

According to Dagen, OnlyFans has been presented with the criticism, but the newspaper had not received a comment as of Monday afternoon.
