“I would like to pay tribute to Oslo City Council chief Raymond Johansen who proposed a clear municipal regulation and challenged the industry to close down at night. The industry has asked for regulation – and now it has received it,” Hareide wrote in a Facebook post.

“It is my clear expectation that the (electric scooter industry) actors now follow the appeal from local authorities,” he added.

At the same time, Hareide admitted that stopping the rentals at night will not solve all challenges. He asked the users of electric scooters to take responsibility for riding safely.
