On Thursday, the Norwegian parliament (Storting) will approve Finland’s and Sweden’s NATO applications.
Prime Minister Jonas Gahr Støre (AP) will be present in the Storting on Thursday, June 16, in connection with the approval of the draft protocols on NATO membership for Finland and Sweden.
The Storting has made arrangements to adopt a positive position on NATO membership for the two countries as soon as possible. The recommendation from the Foreign Affairs and Defense Committee is supported by all parties, with the exception of the Red Party (Rødt), which will vote against it.
The Socialist Left Party (SV) has confirmed that they will support the proposal, despite the fact that they are also opposed to Norwegian membership in the defense alliance.
Finland and Sweden submitted their applications for NATO membership on May 18. What was supposed to be a quick process has been delayed due to opposition from Turkey.
Before the formal ratification process can begin, the 30 ambassadors to the NATO Council must sign a so-called accession protocol, an invitation to the alliance.

Meanwhile, it looks like the Ukrainians are now realizing that their (brave but overwhelmed) army is breaking. The sooner they sign a treaty, the less territory they are going to lose.
This tragedy only happened because Volodymyr Zelensky and the Kyiv government were pumped up by Biden&Blinken and British and European leaders into thinking they could win a war against Russia … and then pumped-up Volodymyr’s ill-thought remark in Munich indicating Ukraine could be open to getting nuclear weapons which according to Putin on May 9 was the trigger.
Earth’s ice cubes are melting catastrophically, and it is only a matter of time before places begin literally boiling. Swedish Univ. of Lund professor Jens Bartelson’s bloodthirsty “thesis” that war is an inherent part of European culture – essentially suggesting that Europeans are forever bored-with-peace, war-rabid lemmings – must again be repudiated as it was at Nuremberg 76 years ago.
We must STOP The Confrontation and immediately re-unite internationally … literally for our (children’s and grandchildren’s and) Life’s survival.
