In connection with this year’s Pride celebration, the Norwegian parliament (Storting) will hoist the rainbow flag.

The Storting’s administration confirmed the information, according to Norwegian Broadcasting (NRK).

In May last year, the Storting made an amendment to the Flag Act so that it was possible to hoist the Pride flag on all municipal flagpoles.

Prior to the change, it was only allowed to hoist the Norwegian and Sami flags, in addition to municipal and county flags, on public flagpoles.

The change means that the use of other flags for “events, markings, or anniversaries of public interest” is also allowed.
