Oslo Municipality has made an arrangement according to which corona vaccination can take place in pharmacies. Now the unions want employees participating in the vaccination process to be vaccinated themselves.

Both the Norwegian Pharmaceutical Association and the Pharmaceutical Association in Parat think it is good that the City of Oslo wants to utilize the expertise available in pharmacies but state that employees who are to take part in the vaccination must be vaccinated themselves due to the risk of infection.

“Pharmacy technicians and pharmacists in pharmacies are an important part of the health service. Pharmacy employees have made a great effort during the pandemic to keep pharmacies open to everyone all the way.

“However, this has meant that pharmacy employees live with an increased risk of infection,” Irene Hope, leader of the Pharmaceutical Association in Parat, emphasized.

Urd Andestad, leader of the Norwegian Pharmaceutical Association, supports Hope. Together with the Norwegian Pharmaceutical Association, he has sent a letter to the Municipality asking that pharmacy employees are given priority in the vaccine queue.
