Several Norwegian police districts say that they have received tips about exploitation attempts aimed at vulnerable Ukrainian refugees.

TV 2 writes that the police are worried that Ukrainian refugees will be exploited in Norway. The channel has, among other things, talked to a woman who asked if anyone knew of a place where her Ukrainian mother could live via Facebook. She then received a message from a man who wanted a single Ukrainian refugee.

“We take this very seriously and have therefore increased our attention to this concern and are actively working to develop measures,” Harald Nilssen in the Oslo Police District stated.

Police inspector Tore Salvesen in the Western police district also stated that the police received a lot of tips.

Nilssen added that work had been initiated across agencies to prevent and detect sexual abuse and exploitation of refugees.
