The police have registered an increase in online fraud on recruitment portals, such as Digpost, Webcruiter, and Finn.no.

“Cybercriminals are creative, and in the cases we now see, they pretend to be employers looking for job seekers,” Møre og Romsdal police district informs.

The police especially warned those who work with HR and recruitment, but also job seekers.

The scam constitutes, in short, criminals acting as employers on the recruitment portals. There, they retrieve information about job seekers, invite them to a job interview and ask them to confirm a time via BankID.

When the BankID is used, the criminals retrieve the information and take out money from the victim’s bank account.

If you are exposed to such a scam, contact the police and the bank immediately.
