Prime Minister Erna Solberg wished US President Donald Trump a swift recovery after it was confirmed that both he and First Lady Melania Trump were infected with the coronavirus.

“I wish Donald Trump and everyone who is infected with corona to – get well! We are in the middle of a pandemic, and this is an example of how contagious the virus is. That is why we have introduced infection control measures,” Solberg wrote in an SMS to newspaper VG.

Trump tweeted about the positive test results just before seven o’clock Norwegian time on Friday.

Quarantined in the White House

Trump will continue to work while in quarantine in the White House.

“We will go into quarantine immediately and start working on getting well. We will get through this TOGETHER,” the president tweeted.

Trump’s doctor said the president would continue to perform his duties and that the couple would be quarantined in the White House.

“The president and the first lady are both in good shape at the moment, and they plan to be at home in the White House during the convalescence,” doctor Sean Conley wrote in a statement Friday night local time.
