Norwegian is preparing to open ticket sales on a total of 259 routes in the summer of 2022. Thus, close to 200 routes will reopen.

This summer, Norwegian has offered flights on 53 routes to destinations in Norway and abroad. Next summer, they are planning a major upscaling with 259 routes in and from the Nordic region, of which 136 will depart from Norway.

The reopening of the routes is in line with the expected easing of travel restrictions and quarantine requirements and an increase in the demand for flights.

CEO Geir Karlsen is optimistic for next year, even though 2020 and 2021 have been tough years for the aviation industry. Norwegian expects the ever-increasing vaccination rate to lead to a smaller risk of new travel restrictions in 2022.

“Norwegian is now well equipped to take care of business through 2022, although we will to some extent be affected by the pandemic also in the time ahead,” he added.

In addition, Norwegian is reopening some routes already this year, and passengers can book tickets from Oslo to Rome, Milan, Naples, Sicily, Warsaw, Vienna, and Amsterdam. Most of these routes will become operational already this month.
