According to the Norwegian Coronal Monitor survey, people expect the corona pandemic to last a long time, but the fear of being infected is falling.

According to the survey, most people are now less anxious about becoming infected. In fact, July was the month so far in a year with the lowest proportion of people – 32% – worried about being infected with the coronavirus.

For the first time during the pandemic, fewer than half – 49% – said they are worried that someone in their family will be infected.

“Vaccination weakens the risk of becoming seriously ill, and the health service has so far not experienced a significant increase in admissions. But if we face a stronger fourth wave of infection or new mutations, the situation can quickly change,” senior adviser Nora Clausen in Opinion stated.

In July, only 17% of people believed that the pandemic in Norway would be over in the next six months. 45% expect it to be over in a year, while the rest think it will take longer than that. 17% expect the pandemic to last for two years or longer.
