On Monday, Norwegian’s share rose sharply after Wizz Air announced it would phase out its domestic routes in Norway.

Norwegian’s shares soared with an increase of 10.6% after competitor Wizz Air announced on Saturday that it would close all domestic routes in Norway after seven months of operation.

However, the Hungarian airline plans to retain its Norwegian base and will continue to fly passengers in and out of Norway.

Less competition on domestic flights also benefited SAS, which rose by 2.6%.
