Multiple elderly people have called the police and reported fraud attempts. The fraudsters claimed they were the police.

“A person called and asked for account information,” operations manager Tom Johannessen told the newspaper Bergensavisen.

On Wednesday, several elderly people called the police and reported that they had been called by someone who claimed he was from Økokrim.

“The police do not call to ask for such information,” Johannessen said.

“If you get such calls, try to write down the number and report it to the police,” he said.
