From June 1, quarantine rules for those who have been in close contact with infected persons will be eased.

Now there will be quarantine only for people living in the same household or having similar forms of contact with people who are confirmed to be infected with the coronavirus, Health Minister Bent Høie (Høyre) announced at a press conference on Thursday.

As examples of similar contact the Minister of Health mentioned, among other things, a cabin trip with friends where one of the participants is confirmed with corona infection, partners who do not live together, or if one has cared for a patient who is later confirmed with corona infection. In such cases, quarantine should continue for ten days, with tests on day three and day seven.

The Minister of Health emphasized that the reopening could lead to an increase in cases of infection.

“Further reopening, combined with increased access to testing, could lead to an increase in the number of cases,” Høie emphasized.
