A woman in her 20s has died after being hit by a garbage truck on Nøtterøy in Færder municipality.
The Southeast Police District was notified of the accident at 9:35 AM on Monday.
The woman was picked up by a rescue helicopter. She was later pronounced dead.
“It has now been confirmed that a woman in her 20s has died as a result of the accident.
Investigation underway
“Relatives have been notified. She was hit by a vehicle. The course of events is being investigated in more detail “, the police wrote on Twitter.
Forensics were on their way to the scene on Monday morning.
The course of events is unknown, but according to newspaper Tønsbergs Blad, a garbage truck ran over the pedestrian.
The driver of the garbage truck has been transported to the emergency room.
