Never before has Norway registered so many corona cases in one month as so far in November of 2021. A total of 34,848 cases of coronavirus have been reported to the MSIS.

November is the only month in the pandemic with more than 30,000 registered cases of infection, P4 reports.

“I think that was expected when society opened up. The question is whether the health service has the capacity to handle it,” Prime Minister Jonas Gahr Støre (AP) told the channel.

November was also the month with the most infection cases in 2020, with a total of 15,488 cases. In March, 24,865 cases were registered, and in September, 27,956.

“We still have to work to keep the infection down. Measures in municipalities, face masks, keeping distance, and staying at home when we are sick,” Støre pointed out.

So far this year, 192,700 cases of coronavirus have been reported in Norway. In the whole of last year, 50,211 cases were reported.
