On a national basis, 34 cases of monkeypox have now been registered in Norway. The number of cases has surpassed 20 in Oslo, according to Norwegian Broadcasting (NRK).

Eleven cases were registered in Oslo in June, and during the first two weeks of July, there have been almost as many new cases, the channel reports.

The most common symptoms of monkeypox are fever and a general malaise followed by rash and lymph node swelling.

Most people recover from monkeypox without treatment, and the illness only results in death or severe consequences in rare cases.
