Norwegian Broadcasting (NRK) journalists Halvor Ekeland and Lokman Ghorbani are finally in Norway. They were arrested on a business trip in the World Cup host country Qatar.

“We’re fine. These have been tiring days. The situation was uncertain, but it is very good to be home in Norway now,” Ekeland told the press at Gardermoen.

Photojournalist Ghorbani briefly commented on the more than 30 hours in solitary confinement in Qatar.

“It was awful,” he told the newspaper VG.

Ekeland and Ghorbani were in Qatar as journalists in connection with the upcoming World Cup in the country. The two are on their way to Marienlyst, where they will meet with NRK.
