After the annual meeting dinner in Nordland Labor Party in Bodø on Friday, Labor deputy chief Bjørnar Skjæran and seven others gathered in a hotel room.

“I am very sorry that I was present,” Skjæran told Norwegian Broadcasting (NRK).

The celebration in a suite at the hotel Scandic Havet broke with the strict corona measures introduced in Bodø on the same day.

Among other things, the measures state that it is not permitted to arrange or participate in private gatherings where more than five guests are present at the same time.

In addition to deputy leader Skjæran, the leader of the Nordland Labor Party, Mona Nilsen, was also present.

Øystein Mathisen and county secretary Tor Arne Bell Ljunggren also participated.

“It is completely right that they issue a proper apology today,” Bodø Mayor and party colleague Ida Pinnerød noted.
