A man in his late 50s is charged with possession of enormous amounts of abusive material. The man has worked as a substitute in over 50 kindergartens, according to Norwegian Broadcasting (NRK).

The man is also accused of having raped a boy under 14 years of age. The abuse allegedly took place in the late 90s, and the police fear he can’t be convicted for the crime because it happened a long time ago.

In the man’s apartment in Oslo, the police made one of the largest seizures ever, according to NRK.

Among other things, they found up to 1.5 million files with material portraying abuse.

Substitute in kindergartens

The man has worked as a substitute in more than 50 kindergartens in Oslo.

The police are investigating whether he may have abused children in these kindergartens and have contacted the kindergartens and the staffing company he has worked for.

“We can not rule out anything, but so far, we have not found evidence of it. We are still working on this, but we consider it unlikely that it has happened,” police investigator Stian Riple told NRK.
