In the last week, Trondheim Municipality has registered a marked increase in corona infection figures. Several people among the infected are fully vaccinated.

“In the last week, we have seen a marked increase in infection numbers, among the unvaccinated, partially vaccinated, and fully vaccinated,” municipal chief medical officer Tove Røsstad stated in a press release.

In the last week, 250 people were diagnosed with the coronavirus in Trondheim. Out of the total, 141 of those infected are women and 109 men.

After several weeks without restrictions, Røsstad is not particularly surprised by the infection trend in Trondheim.

She reminds people that a continued increase in infection can have negative consequences for individuals and society.

“To slow down the spread of infection, everyone should continue with what we have been working on for 20 months: wash hands, use anti-bac when you can, and keep a certain distance from others, if possible,” Røsstad stated.
