At midnight, 12,003 coronavirus-infected people were registered in Norway, preliminary figures show.

That is an increase of 127 cases in the last 24 hours.

In the last two days, the total toll increased by 248 reported cases, according to figures from the National Reporting System for Infectious Diseases (MSIS).

Up to Thursday, a total of 860,155 people were tested for COVID-19 in Norway.

Since Thursday last week, 82,700 new people have been tested.

About 1.5% of those tested since the outbreak began have been diagnosed with coronavirus.

On Friday, a total of 16 people were receiving COVID-19 treatment at Norwegian hospitals.

The National Institute of Public Health (FHI) has registered 265 coronavirus-related deaths since March.

According to the FHI, it is not always possible to determine whether the deaths were caused by the coronavirus or by complications due to the virus.
