A lot of rain is expected in Oslo and the eastern parts of Viken on Friday and Saturday. The NVE has issued a flood danger warning.

“Persistent rain throughout the week has gradually resulted in greater water flow in the watercourses. Heavy rain from Friday afternoon can cause flooding of small and medium-sized rivers. That could lead to local floods,” the Norwegian Water Resources and Energy Directorate (NVE) wrote on Thursday.

The NVE has issued a flood danger warning for Oslo and the eastern parts of Viken at the “yellow” level, which is the lowest of the three danger levels.

The Norwegian Meteorological Institute has warned that there may be around 39 millimeters of precipitation in Oslo on Friday and around 44 millimeters of precipitation in Fredrikstad. The rain is expected to continue until Saturday morning.

“There will be local variations in precipitation,” the NVE added.
