After an eight-hour search, the Norwegian-owned ship Ocean Viking picked up 50 people in the Mediterranean, MSF reports.
Among the fifty were ten children and one infant.
They were rescued from a crowded wooden boat in what is referred to as the Maltese search and rescue area.
According to the organizations, the rescue operation took place under demanding conditions.
