Health personnel will be given higher priority and moved forward in the vaccine queue, the National Institute of Public Health (FHI) stated at a press conference on Wednesday morning.

Health personnel has not been prioritized as a group before.

On Wednesday, FHI director Camilla Stoltenberg stated that the highest priority health personnel would be moved forward in the vaccine queue.

The goal is to ensure that the capacity in the health services is maintained, Stoltenberg noted.

All doses in vaccine vials to be used

In cases where it’s possible to get more than five doses out of the vaccine vials, all doses should be used, the FHI stated.

The vaccine manufacturer Pfizer adds two extra doses as a safety margin to each vial, and these doses should now be utilized.

Previously, Norway decided to look into whether the extra doses should be used.

Denmark and the USA have also decided to use all doses, as the move can provide significantly more capacity.
