Norway will receive up to 50,000 doses of the vaccine from Pfizer / Biontech this Christmas, the Norwegian Ministry of Health reports. That is almost 40,000 more than previously reported.

“I am glad that we get even more vaccine doses already for Christmas. These doses should, in principle, be enough to give the first dose to all nursing home residents in Norway,” Prime Minister Erna Solberg (H) said.

In order for the deliveries to go through as planned, the vaccine first has to be approved.

The pharmaceutical companies reported that the delivery of the first 10,000 doses would be carried out on December 26 and not on Christmas Eve, as previously estimated.

That will not lead to any delays in the vaccination plans, the Ministry noted.
