Økokrim accuses John Carew of gross tax evasion
On Friday, the National Authority for Investigation and Prosecution of Economic and Environmental Crime in Norway (Økokrim) issued an indictment against John Carew, accusing him of gross tax evasion.
Carew’s lawyer Berit Reiss-Andersen confirmed that the former football player had been charged with gross tax evasion in a press release on Friday.
“My client disputes parts of the indictment. He has not acted with intent, but in good faith and on the basis of incorrect tax advice,” Reiss-Andersen said.
