On Monday, Olaug Bollestad (KRF) took over as Minister of Children and Family Affairs.
In a short, official statement from the Prime Minister, the government announced the following:
“Minister Olaug Vervik Bollestad takes over as Minister of Children and Family Affairs, in addition to the responsibility she currently has as Minister of Agriculture and Food. “
Resignation application
Minister of Education Guri Melby (V) presented Ropstad’s resignation application to King Harald, as Erna Solberg’s Deputy Prime Minister.
Solberg traveled to New York this weekend to attend the UN General Assembly, which starts on Monday.
Ropstad arrived at the Palace at 11 o’clock to attend his last cabinet meeting. The meeting was over after a few minutes.
No ceremony
Usually, a new minister is presented to the press, and there is usually a session with speeches in the ministry afterward. But this change in the government was carried out without these ceremonies.
On Saturday afternoon, Ropstad announced that he is resigning as both Minister for Children and Families and KRF leader after the revelation that he didn’t pay enough tax in connection with the so-called “housing” scandal.
Ropstad will continue to be the KRF’s leader until Friday when he will resign. Deputy leader Olaug Bollestad will take over as acting party leader.
