In 2021, 28% of those who lost their lives in traffic in Norway were under the age of 25.

The figures appear in the UAG report from the Norwegian Public Roads Administration.

Fatal accidents on Norwegian roads often involve young motorists, a lack of driving skills, driving under the influence, and high speed, the organization Ung i trafiken emphasized.

“Despite some positive trends, there is unfortunately still a lot to address,” general manager Stig Eid Sandstad said.

He believes that a lack of driving experience and a poor understanding of risk among younger drivers may be a reason for the figures in 2021.
