One of the three health workers who were admitted to Rikshospitalet on Saturday after receiving the AstraZeneca vaccine has died.
“Rikshospitalet has now stated that one of them is now dead,” Steinar Madsen in the Norwegian Medicines Agency stated on Monday.
Three health workers were admitted to Rikshospitalet on Saturday due to complications related to blood clots that have occurred after receiving the AstraZeneca vaccine.
“The Norwegian Medicines Agency emphasizes that this is a rare disease situation. They have a very unusual combination of low platelet counts, blood clots in small and large vessels, and bleeding. Some cases of similar diseases have been reported in several other European countries,” he continued.
Norway put vaccination with AstraZeneca vaccines on hold on Thursday, after reports from Denmark and other countries about possible side effects in the form of blood clots.
