Five people lost their homes after a fire in a house in Steinkjer on Thursday night. The police have arrested one person.

The police were notified of the fire around 4:30 AM.

All residents were quickly evacuated, and no one was injured. After an hour, the fire was extinguished by the fire service, the newspaper Adresseavisen writes.

One of the residents in the house has been arrested by the police.

“He is being investigated due to circumstances surrounding the fire and how it started,” task leader Per Henrik Bykvist in the Trøndelag Police District stated.

He says the investigation will show whether the fire was started deliberately or not. Technical inspections will be carried out in the house on Thursday or Friday.
