One person dies in frontal collision between car and lorry in Østerdalen
One person died when a car and a lorry collided head-on on national road 3 in Kvikne in Inlanndet on Thursday.
The police were notified of the accident at 2:23 AM on Thursday. The accident happened at Ya bridge in Kvikne when the two vehicles collided head-on.
“One person has been confirmed dead on the spot. The deceased was sitting in the car,” operations manager Sidsel Svarstad in the Innlandet Police District told news bureau NTB.
There were two people in the truck. Both were apparently unharmed by the accident.
“We have notified the relatives,” Svarstad stated.
“The police are investigating the accident together with the Norwegian Public Roads Administration’s accident analysis group,” the operations manager added.
National road 3 will be closed throughout the day, the police say.
