One person at the Oseberg field is infected with coronavirus, Equinor told newspaper E24. Fourteen others have been quarantined.

Oseberg is an offshore oil field with a gas cap in the North Sea located around 140 kilometers northwest of Bergen on the southwestern coast of Norway.

The infected person tested negative for coronavirus before he flew out to the platform, the newspaper writes.

“There are quick tests for everyone who is going out (editor’s note: to the field). Unfortunately, the quick tests can give false negatives and false positives,” Eva Sleire in Equinor noted.

Infection has been reported at the oil field before, most recently in November, E24 writes.
