In a new survey, 20 percent of those surveyed believe the government will step down next year. Only 49 percent believe the government will survive 2020.

This is stated in a survey Norstat has conducted for ABC News.

In the survey, a representative sample of 1,012 people were asked whether they believe the Solberg government will survive 2020, or whether they believe it will retire or be decreased during 2020.

49 percent responded that they believe the government will be seated, 20 percent believe the government will step down, 11 percent believe it will be decreased, while 20 percent say they do not know.

Election expert and political scientist Svein Tore Marthinsen is surprised that 51 percent do not believe, or are uncertain whether, the Solberg government will survive 2020.

– “I think that figure was high, especially considering that we have a majority government. If the incumbent government is to leave, then one or more parties must figure out that the best thing for them is to withdraw from the government project,” Marthinsen told ABC News.

Marthinsen himself thinks the government will survive next year.

– “I think it stands in 2020, but falls in 2021,” he says.
