The ban on open fire, barbecues and bonfires has been lifted in Agder counties, Oslo and elsewhere in Eastern Norway.

The ban is lifted because of the precipitation in recent days. However, the general open fire ban in wooded and forest areas still applies.

“The fire chief has lifted the total ban on fires and barbecues that have been in recent weeks, and we are now returning to normal. This means that it is allowed to grill where it is safe,” says fire inspector Sigurd Folgerø Dalen from the Oslo Fire and Rescue Service to NRK.

The barrier ban has been lifted in Oslo, Asker, Bærum, Follo, Agder counties and in several municipalities in Østfold, Hedmark and Oppland. In Romerike and Telemark, the total fire ban is still in effect.
