A 19-year-old man has been sentenced to four years in prison for, among other things, trying to kill a man in Bjølsen in Oslo in January 2020.

The man has also been convicted of possessing a firearm in a public place, accusing another person of the shooting incident, and possessing 0.2 grams of marijuana.

The 19-year-old fired several shots, and one of them hit the victim in the upper arm. They did not know each other before the incident.

The man admitted to the possession of the drug but otherwise denied criminal guilt. Now, he must also pay NOK 137,000 in compensation to the victim.

In February, the young man was sentenced to three years and eight months in prison for inflicting grievous bodily harm and robbery. The verdict has been appealed.
