A 22-year-old man has been sentenced to four years and two months in prison for, among other things, raping a 14-year-old girl in an apartment in Oslo. He appealed the verdict.

According to the newspaper Nettavisen, the verdict from the Oslo District Court also includes sexual intercourse with children under the age of 16 and threats. The man is sentenced to pay the girl NOK 175,000 in compensation.

The 22-year-old, who is a Syrian citizen, has appealed the verdict in its entirety, according to his defender, lawyer Marijana Lozic.

“My client denies that sexual intercourse took place and then, of course, does not admit criminal guilt for rape,” the lawyer told Nettavisen.

According to the verdict, the rape took place in April 2020.
