While the main airports in Denmark, Sweden, Finland, and Iceland have requirements or recommendations for the use of face masks, Oslo Airport has dropped the use of face masks.

“Avinor takes into account the Norwegian authorities’ removal of the face mask requirement… we reflect what applies to Norwegian society in general,” press officer Erik Lødding at Avinor told Flysmart24.

Both Sweden and Denmark, like Norway, have removed most of the corona measures, while Finland is in the process of doing the same.

Situation in Sweden and Denmark

In Sweden, a recommendation applies to wear a face mask at Arlanda Airport, while in the other two countries, face masks are mandatory. The authorities in Denmark refer to a recommendation from the European Organization for the Safety of Air Navigation, EASA.

Ullensaker Municipality, where Oslo Airport is located, has been in contact with the Norwegian Directorate of Health, which confirmed that the removal of the face mask requirement in Norway also applies to Oslo Airport.

Airlines are also working on removing face mask requirements. Fly removed the requirement on Sunday, while Norwegian removed it for travel in Scandinavia. SAS will remove the requirement for travel in Scandinavia from Tuesday.
