The countdown for the opening of new Oslo airport has started in earnest. This Wednesday, the Transport Minister had a look at the new section.

This Wednesday marked exactly one year until the official opening. 94 percent of the new airport has already been completed and the project is on track; both on budget and on time.
“Oslo Airport is the main hub of Norwegian transport and travelers will soon get to experience a bigger, better and more efficient airport,” says Transport Minister Ketil Solvik-Olsen (FRP).
The development will result in Norway’s main airport growing to nearly twice the size that it is now. From April 2017 onwards, it will have an annual capacity of 30 million passengers a year.
The new wing, Pier North, is approximately 300 meters in length and includes eleven new aircraft parking areas, meant to handle both domestic and international traffic.
