Telenor is rolling out its 5G network. Trondheim already has it. Now it’s Oslo’s, Bergen’s, and Stavanger’s turn.
“We are pressing the button in Oslo, Bergen, and Stavanger. But pressing the button does not mean that you can run out and use it – we will start construction now.
“We will have more stations up in those cities during the year,” coverage director Bjørn Amundsen at Telenor told TV 2.
In March, Trondheim became the first Norwegian city to receive the new 5G network.
Four-year-long transition
From next year, Kristiansand, Drammen, Fredrikstad, Ålesund, Tromsø, and Bodø will also have the 5G network.
“By 2024, 8,500 base stations will have 5G. The whole of Norway will have 5G within just over four years,” he said.
Telenor’s 3G network will be switched off around the country by the end of the year.
