As many as 98% of guests who were infected by the omicron outbreak at the Christmas dinner party at Aker Brygge on November 26 were fully vaccinated.

41 of the 75 infected people who had received two vaccine doses had received the Pfizer vaccine, and 17 of the 75 had received Moderna’s vaccine.

Among those who were not infected, 7 out of 25 had received Pfizer, while 12 out of 25 had received Moderna, according to the National Institute of Public Health (FHI) and the City of Oslo’s survey after the outbreak.

The survey was published on Thursday in the journal Eurosurveillance.

Although it appears that more people fully vaccinated with Moderna avoided infection than those who were fully vaccinated with Pfizer, the FHI did not conclude that Moderna offers better protection.

“Although we observed some differences in the type of vaccines that were prevalent among the infected and non-infected, the data sample is too small to conclude whether some vaccine types protect better than others against infection with the omicron variant,” the FHI wrote.
